Invisible, not just covered
Normal apps like Discord, Chrome, and Steam vanish from any capture, Display, Window, or Game, while staying completely normal on your screen. Anti-cheat games are never touched and get a black bar instead.
For streamers, on Windows
NoClippy hides Discord DMs, your password manager, and personal tabs from OBS, recordings, and screen-share. Each one goes invisible to your capture while staying completely normal on your own screen. One hotkey flips it all on. It runs entirely on your machine, with nothing to sign up for.
Free, no account, nothing to sign up for.
One alt-tab to the wrong window and your DMs, your email, or a password field are live in front of everyone. There is no undo on a stream.
You pick which apps to protect. Each rule just says "hide." NoClippy makes the window truly invisible to your capture where it can, and falls back to a tracked black bar where it can't. You never pick a method.

Ctrl + Alt + S saves your hidden apps into a tidy folder. For apps it can only grab by un-hiding, it cuts OBS to black for the instant it does, so viewers see black, never your apps.
Ctrl + Alt + P slams every rule on at once and can switch your OBS scene. Hold-to-confirm so a misclick mid-stream can't fire it. Lockdown mode hides everything by default and only lets through what you mark stream-safe.
Connect OBS and protection can flip on the moment you go live, and the panic button can cut to a holding scene. Your OBS password is stored in the Windows Credential Manager, never in a file.
The whole app is one window. Set your rules once, then forget it is running until you need the panic key.
Saved to the Windows Credential Manager, never to a file.
Protected now
A tool that watches your windows has to earn trust. Here is exactly what NoClippy does and does not do.
NoClippy has no backend. It does not phone home, it has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting. All it touches online is an update check, plus the OBS or Streamlabs connection on your own PC if you set one up.
It does not read your messages, your screen, or what is inside any window. It hides the windows you choose using the same Windows display features games and capture tools already use, and never looks inside them.
There is nothing to sign up for. Your rules and profiles live in a plain JSON file in your own app-data folder. Delete it and it's gone.
Every build is signed with a Microsoft-verified certificate, so Windows shows who made it. Watch it in a firewall and you'll see an update check and your local OBS, nothing else.
Windows 10 (2004+) or 11, 64-bit. Free, signed, no account.
Or install with Scoop (no SmartScreen prompt):
scoop bucket add noclippy https://github.com/Phaenex/noclippy-releases
scoop install noclippy
A winget install NoClippy package is coming. It isn't in the
official catalog yet.
No telemetry and no account. It checks GitHub for updates when it starts, and talks to your own OBS or Streamlabs on this PC if you set that up. That's it.
Making a window truly invisible uses DLL injection, the same approach as other privacy tools like Invisiwind, and AV sometimes flags that pattern. NoClippy never does it to anti-cheat games, and every file is signed so you can check it's the real build.
For most apps, no. The window goes fully invisible to your capture while you still see it normally. A window that can't be hidden that way (like an anti-cheat game) gets a tracked black bar instead, so the content still never reaches your stream.
The UI runs on macOS for development, but the actual capture protection is Windows-only because it relies on Windows display affinity.
Yes, free, and it's staying free. Use it however you like for your own streaming, just don't resell it (PolyForm Noncommercial). If it helps, there's a Ko-fi link in the app.
